Remote collaboration with @seatane to design and fabricate a custom aluminum dodger for his 37' cruising sailboat. Deck and coachroof geometry was captured on-water using photogrammetry tools from KIRI Engine. Despite being scanned at night while the vessel was afloat, the resulting 3D mesh proved remarkably accurate. The scan data was used to build a variable-driven parametric model in Onshape, refined collaboratively through remote review, and unrolled into flat patterns for waterjet cutting from aluminum sheet before final welding and assembly.
