NYC Harbor AIS Service

Free public AIS feed covering NYC harbor. Realtime data is available as a web-based map, NMEA over TCP (ais.jessetane.com:9001) and JSON over WebSocket (ws://ais.jessetane.com:9002, wss://ais.jessetane.com:9003). The station is located in Atlantic Basin and uses a dAISy-catcher AIS receiver by Wegmatt, which pulls messages off the air and feeds them into an AIS cache running on a solar powered Raspberry Pi 5. The service's caching layer pushes the entire harbor state to clients at connection time, so they start up instantly with a fully resolved target list.

• Do NOT use the service for navigational safety.
• The service is provided free of charge and makes zero availability guarantees.
• NYC harbor is an extremely high traffic area, especially during the day and many chart plotters will only display the closest 100 targets the service provides them with.
